For my redesign project, we were tasked to design, create and produce a table divider and clamp for the LMTC. We had to create a design for a divider that was pre-cut, and then had to create our own clamping design, to hold the clamp to the table. I designed a simple clamp that would allow the divider to slide into the supports and be easily removed at the end of the day and stored away for safekeeping. The clamp would fasten on to the table by an adhesive, instead of using nuts and bolts. This eliminates any possibility of drilling or cutting through the tables. It also makes the dividers easy to remove at the end of the day for storage.
Included above is a sketch of my project, as you can see it has rounded edges which reinforce the project. The clamp I created is free standing, so the dividers can be removed at the end of the day. This clamp took a while because I didn't size the clamp correctly, and had to reprint it twice. throughout this project I learned that planning is key to design and finish a project on time and in a good manner.
