For the heat press unit we were tasked with creating a logo or design utilizing four colors. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we were unable to actually press these designs into our clothes, but I still designed a pretty killer heat press design! I utilized four colors including: black, green, gold, and white. I created a logo based off of the Oregon Ducks football logo because they're my favorite college football team! I first started off with finding a blank logo of the Oregon Ducks football team. I then converted the image to a vector image and was able to separate it into different parts. I changed individual parts so that they were all four colors I had chosen. Lastly, I uploaded the completed image as a CS6 file to use on the heat press. I had planned on putting this design on my favorite hoodie, but due to Corona I am unable to do that.
After creating my heat press design I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator better to design and edit a raster image. It was basically just like creating a file for the vinyl cutter, but instead you change the file format for the heat press machine instead. I enjoyed creating my design because it was challenging for me but also was also fun to create.
After having done this project I was able to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator to create a heat press design. This was actually almost the same as making a design for the vinyl cutter, because the process was virtually the same. This made the assignment a lot easier, but the hard part was knowing that I wouldn't be able to actually apply this to my hoodie.
